Visibility goal
This project turns a distinctive restaurant identity into an illuminated roadside sign that can be recognized after dark. The sign face needed to preserve the personality of the brand while keeping the restaurant name clear enough for people approaching the property.
Sign approach
The custom cabinet face combines high-contrast lettering with a recognizable graphic mark. The illustrated element provides character, while the brighter name remains the primary reading target. A surrounding border gives the composition a defined edge within the existing cabinet shape.
Illustrated identities require restraint when translated to signage. Fine detail that works on a menu or screen may disappear at roadside distance, so the artwork must be simplified around the shapes and contrast that people can actually perceive.
Face and illumination planning
Artwork preparation, color matching, translucent face material, print or applied graphics, internal lighting, cabinet depth, and nighttime light distribution all affect the finished appearance. The face also has to fit the cabinet accurately and remain serviceable.
Site and installation planning
The existing support, cabinet condition, power, mounting method, local sign requirements, access, lifting equipment, and installer responsibilities should be confirmed before production. Vandalism, existing damage, and unrelated site conditions are separate from product warranty coverage.
What this project illustrates
Custom illuminated signage can carry a playful brand without sacrificing legibility. The key is to establish a clear reading hierarchy and translate only the most recognizable parts of the artwork into the available sign face.
